Churches are encouraged to have a Year Round Stewardship program instead of just a once-a-year emphasis on Stewardship in the Fall. There are three elements to Year-Round Stewardship –
1. Stewardship Education – an emphasis on the many aspects of Stewardship. This includes quarterly stewardship sermons, Churchwide Special Offerings, fundraising for local mission projects, personal health & wellness, a concern for the planet and our environment, and estate planning.
2. Mission Interpretation – What does the Church do with the resources entrusted to it's care?
3. Annual Financial Campaign – usually held in the fall, this is the source of funding and financial planning for the upcoming year
Share your congregation’s Stewardship Story with other churches. What have you done with God’s blessings? Have you found ways to practice stewardship of the world’s natural resources locally? Have you taken actions in your congregation to “use less and save more”? Do you have a local mission story to tell? Do you practice personal stewardship with a health and wellness program for your congregation? If so, email your story to Neal Leeper or mail it to the Presbytery Office. The task force will share your story with other churches in the Presbytery.
